Capturing Special Moments and Memorable Experiences
In my Cape Town based studio I concentrate on commercial photography, portraits and special assignments. I am well known for my patience with children and animals.
Ultimately, whether people are shy or outgoing, introverted or eccentric, serious or silly, they all want to look good on a photograph.
My challenge is to capture that special spark that says “This is real!” I believe that I possess the skill and charm to coax that sense of truth out of even the most difficult subject.

Behind The Lens:
I come from a family of ardent SCUBA divers. Originally, I started working as a SCUBA diving instructor, but the lure of capturing the perfect image underwater proved to be too difficult to resist and with the super smooth dive skills gained over 5000 logged dives during many of our “family holidays” which turned out to be dive expeditions I managed to dive both locally and in many exotic and remote locations around the world.
During these diving holidays my mother and I began a new dream together – to write a book on the wonders of ocean life and showcase my ever-growing underwater portfolio.
The result was that we co-authored two books together – “Secrets of a Blue Universe – An Underwater Explorer” and “The Underwater Photography Handbook”.
Selling on five continents, in several languages, these books in turn led to my photography being requested by publishers of several other coffee table editions.

Working solo gives my clients another advantage. I can accommodate them with very flexible working hours, including weekends and after hours.
This allows me to photograph them when they are relaxed and at their best. I can do my work in the personalised environment of my home based studio, but I also offer my clients the choice of photographing them at a location of their own preference, be this outside in nature, in their offices, or in the comfort of their own homes.
Mothers with new-born babies often opt for this choice. Likewise, weddings, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, engagements and christenings, or other special events are all occasions on which I work at the desired time and location.
One genre that is becoming more popular by the day is the kind of unforgettable photography that lovers give to their lovers. In such sessions, my studio takes on a totally different atmosphere.
This is where I turn the ordinary girl next door into a sexy and sensual creature with star-like qualities, exploring all the subtle looks and poses that will set her guy’s heart aflame.
Perhaps because they find it easier to share their fantasies with a woman photographer, the results without fail are truly amazing.
Another great advantage to my clients is that I do not mass produce.
I keep my client base manageable, because I attend to each of my clients personally, paying great attention to detail and particularly to emphasizing their own individuality, or unique requirements.
After post-production is completed, my clients are invited to a viewing, either at my studio, at any venue of their choice. At this time all the final decisions before printing are made.
This can include photographic printing and framing, printing on canvas, the choice between colour and black and white (or both), hand-tinting for clients who prefer a more whimsical and nostalgic look, and poster printing in large format for interior décor.
I have created an Image Bank over the last few years containing a spectacular collection of photographs of both of underwater and above, including photographs suited to the business and office environment, and material suited to the travel industry, or for fine art and home décor prints.
I make these images commercially available at very competitive rates and can also be commissioned.
Nature and its creatures and interesting people remain great passions of mine.
The dream for the ultimate image lives on! I dream of visiting China and of trekking in Tibet and Nepal.

With the super smooth dive skills gained over 5000 logged dives in my early twenties, working on dive boats worldwide in many exotic and remote locations my late mother and I began a new dream together – to write a book on the wonders of ocean life and showcase my ever-growing underwater portfolio.
